If you are looking for the best jersey of the Swiss national team, there is probably no way around this gem from the Swiss manufacturer “Blacky”, who have certainly created one of the most iconic national jerseys of the 90s with this design.
What is special about this design is the fact that the national team crest is not, as usual, on the left chest, but was put prominently across the entire middle of the shirt.
The jersey comes from the collection of former Bundesliga and German U21 player Gerhard Poschner, who received it from upcoming star of the “Nati”, Ciriaco Sforza, after a snow battle against the Swiss U21 in 1990. Sforza is best known to Bundesliga fans for his time at Kaiserslautern and Bayern Munich, for whom he played a total of 265 Bundesliga matches.
As I was always on the lookout for a worn Blacky jersey, I am all the more pleased that it was worn by a player I still have many memories of from my childhood.
