Matchworn by Óscar Sonejee 11.10.13 AND 🇦🇩 : ROU 🇷🇴 0 - 4
Manufacturer: Adidas
Source: Collector
All good things come in threes – well these came in twos! I was able to buy both the home and away model of Andorra’s 2012 shirt from a collector for a decent price.
While this particular shirt was actually worn, the blue away shirt was only prepared for an away match against Romania.
I was happy to find out, that my shirt has been worn by Óscar Sonejee, one of Andorra’s legendary players! The son of Indian imigrants made his debut for the team in their second ever match in 1997 and captained the team for many years. In 2015, Sonejee became the first Andorran player to earn 100 caps for the national team, only to be surpassed by Ildefons Lima two years later.
While the history behind the shirt is interesting, the design itself is nothing to write home about: a simple Adidas template featuring an embroidered federation badge and the match details, as well as the infamous “face palm” 2014 World Cup logo.
